ABOUT HEALTHY STADIA
Healthy Stadia is a European NGO that works in the crossover areas of professional and amateur sport, facilities management, and public health.
We have over 15 years’ worth of experience working with governing bodies of sport, leagues, professional clubs, and associated community programmes to deliver projects than can positively influence the health and wellbeing of their fans, staff, and local communities.
Based in the UK, we have worked across football, rugby, cricket and many more sports to implement no smoking policies at sports venues, to improve the quality of matchday catering and to encourage fans to consider more sustainable means of transportation – particularly walking and cycling.
Healthy Stadia also works with sports organisations to identify how they can make an impact in their local community. We build capacity through the provision of guidance documents, toolkits, and training opportunities to support the delivery of community health programmes, that can help to tackle some of the most pressing public health issues, including obesity, alcohol and substance misuse and poor mental health.
We also conduct research into the commercial determinants of health in sport, advocating for changes to sponsorship policies to ensure fans are protected from aggressive marketing from unhealthy commodity industries.
